Guatemalan Independence Day

Monday was Guatemalan Independence Day, so we had the day off from school. We had some special celebrations at school on Friday and we were allowed to wear blue and white attire for Guatemala. I really wanted a soccer jersey anyway, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to go ahead and get one and then I could wear jeans to school as well! :) I took a few pictures with my advisory group that was wearing their jerseys as well! (This is right outside my classroom!!!)

With my good friend Danielle. She is so much fun! We went together and bought our jerseys off the side of the road! There was this guy selling all kinds of Guatemalan gear to wear or decorate with out of the back of his truck! It was quite an experience. Then the next day at school, our other friend told us that her husband said we could have gotten it cheaper than what we paid at the Puma store in the mall. Oh well.
