Last weekend I knew that there was a lot of stuff going on, but I had no idea how busy and full the weekend was about to be. On Friday night, I got home from school planning to do some cooking and thinking about Christmas shopping, etc, until I got a message asking if I was going to the Futeca game. A bunch of the girls (and guys on another team) play Futeca, which is just soccer but it is played on a smaller field with less players and it is very fast paced and exciting! Well, our girls were playing in the championship game, which was a big deal, being the gringas and all. The all say that the refs and the other Guatemalan teams all don't like the gringas, especially because they are really good. There are some girls that played soccer in college and some really great players! So we went to go cheer on the fellow gringos and hopefully lead them to victory!!!
Here is Steph and I cheering them on! (Do you like the jacket Alexa???)

Well, we helped cheer them to VICTORY!! They did awesome and won in a shootout in the end after an overtime period as well. It was a great, exciting game and so much fun to watch! Here are the champions!!!! (One guy kept calling them the champinones, which means mushrooms in spanish!!!) They got this cool, solid gold, heavy trophy!!!!
One of the guys was teasing Stephanie after she gotout from under her blanket that she matched the field with her black and green, so he wanted her to lay down for a picture! Tooo funny!
We went out that night to celebrate at a place called La Playa. It was Kelly's birthday the next day, so we stayed until at least midnight so we could celebrate her day with her!!! How fun! Feliz cumpleanos mi amiga!
The next day, I woke up and went to the market to do a little shopping with a friend. Then that night we went out to dinner at this cute restaurant for two of the girls birthdays! They had these cool spouts on the wall that we thought it would be fun to take a picture looking like we were drinking out of them. Henry (he is our athletic director and also owns this restaurant) decided it would be funny to act like he was turning my spout on. He didn't really!!!!
Jesse, who lives very close to my apartment, and I out to dinner that night. She is from Long Island!
