Messiah

I was updating in order from my list I made earlier, but I have way too many pictures and stories to tell about Costa Rica than I have time right now. About five teachers from my school joined the Guatemala Community Choir and have been preparing for the last several months to sing in the Messiah. Several of us teachers went to the performance at the National Theater last week. The performance was beautiful and it started to put me in the Christmas spirit. What a lovely job they all did!!!!

One teacher, Charlotte, is the first girl in the back row next to the guy. In the next row, the first girl next to the guy is Jen, who is married to a teacher here and then next is Stephanie, who lives in my building.

I say that the Messiah "started" to get me in the Christmas spirit, because it's been a really weird feeling that it is December already for several reasons:
1. It is almost 80 degrees here today and I am wearing a short sleeved polo shirt, capri pants, and flip flops to school.
2. I am going over to my friend's house after school to lay out and work on my tan before I come home for Christmas.
3. I don't drive around and see Christmas lights and decorations everywhere.
4. I didn't really have a "traditional" Thanksgiving which signifies the coming of Christmas.
5. I haven't done hardly any of my Christmas shopping. :(
6. I don't make it to the malls and places very often and see all of the Christmas decorations up and around.

Needless to say, I am still headed out of Guatemala to be home for Christmas in ONE short week!!! I can't believe it. I only have three more school days left. So weird. Christmas has seemed so far away for so long!

One week from now, when you step off the plane, you will instantly feel the "Christmas Chill"!! We have snow on the ground today! Can't wait to see you.
