JUST A NOTE: Yes, this is a reposting of my entry from my Korea blog but for those of you new readers, I thought it really belonged on the Guatemala blog!!!!
So I made it to Guatemala tonight!!! No problems at all with any of my flights. One of my friend's friend that I met when she came to Malaysia with us met me in the Dallas airport and we ate together before my flight to Guatemala!! While waiting to board, this girl came up and asked why I was going to Guatemala and I said to teach, she said where, and I said CAG, she said ME TOO!! So we were two seats away from each other and got someone to switch and we sat next to each other. Then this couple in front of us turned around and asked if we were going to teach at CAG and we said yes, and they were coming too!! so it was really nice to get to know some folks before we landed. The girl I sat next to is an 8th grade math teacher so I will be working with her a lot I'm sure. She's very nice...... We had a nice welcome at the airport and my roommate here at the hotel is Korean!!! ha ha. She grew up in Syracuse, NY, but I have used my little Korean on her already! She's a high school math teacher and very nice as well! We waited for the van to bring the luggage (it wouldn't all fit in the car) and then I went out to grab something to eat with the couple on the plane and then we are getting an early start at 6:45 tomorrow for the bus pickup! It was a really wonderful beginning! I am super excited to get to know everyone and get going on this new adventure. I will be unveiling the new blog soon......stay tuned to keep up with the new adventures here in Guatemala! Our hotel room is very nice and we have free wireless access here so I am sure I will be able to communicate quite a bit! I made my friend take a picture of me in the airport so here are a few pictures to show you all that I am alive and well!!!!!
Here I am about to board the plane in Dallas.......
