Summer Plans

I am stoked about my summer this year. First and foremost, I have a beautiful new nephew that you can see in my previous post that I absolutely can NOT wait to get home and see. For the past two years, I have come home from living far away from home and usually spent my summers doing the same things. Visiting the same friends, going to the same places in the US, maybe taking a short trip somewhere. This summer, I decided, I wanted to take a cool trip. I have some really cool friends that live in some really cool places around the world. It all started off as just thinking about looking for a cheap ticket to get to Europe and stay for a few weeks to visit two friends that I have that live in Italy and Belgium. Then, I began to think, well if I am going all the way there, I should fly in and out of a different country to see at least one more place while I am there. I began looking for where the cheapest places were to fly in/out of from Missouri. Then, a colleague of mine is going to be in France all summer, so I thought I could meet up with her too. THEN.....my friend Wendy who lives in Kenya told me maybe she would meet up with me in Rome while I am there. After talking to her and saying how much I would really like to visit her in Kenya sometime, I realized that this summer was probably going to be my only chance to ever go and see her since she will most likely only be there one more school year. Maybe I could get a three way ticket: Missouri to Europe to Africa and back home. Too expensive. Then after she told me how much her ticket was from Nairobi to Rome, I thought, well maybe it's the same price going the opposite way. It was! So after all this thought process, here is my big summer plan which I can't wait to experience!!!!!!

June 17: fly to KC

June 30: fly to Madrid

July 2: fly to Rome to visit Rebekah

July 4: fly to Nairobi, Kenya to visit Wendy P

July 12: fly back to Rome WITH Wendy P

July 16: fly to Belgium to visit Laura (possible side trip to London, France or Germany)

July 22ish: fly back to Madrid to hang out with Wendy F and Avis

July 28: fly back to KC

August 11: fly back to Guatemala

I can't wait!!!!! My three continent, seven country, four nieces/nephews, lots of family/friends summer!!!!! It's going to be crazy busy but so worth it!
